Year was 2016 when www.smartid.ee was released under trademark “Smart ID”. Since then many websites fell in love to the service that allows them to identify customers very easily and get service running in minutes. Letting people sign the documents properly has been a breeze since then.
All this can be done in many countries with many different strong electronic identification and eSignature methods/devices.
Just a little while later in 2016 was introduced amazing mobile app “Smart-ID“. This mobile app allows giving as strong QES electronic signature as any eIDAS certified national ID card.
Since then “Smart-ID” has been installed to almost every Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian mobile phones and everyone knows what this service is.
Since the name similarity can cause some confusion then smartid.ee service name was changed to be eideasy.com.
If you are customer of smartid.ee then make sure to change you server endpoint address from id.smartid.ee to id.eideasy.com ASAP.
